Techniques Used:

Illustration of AlignRT torso surface images of a male (A and C) and a female subject (B and D) acquired using the AlignRT system. The volume of interest is defined between the 2 vertical lines (green), tilted horizontal line (purple), and anterior surface (A and B). Using the full-exhalation torso surface image as the reference, the torso volume changes are calculated for OSI-based spirometry. The 3D surface views are shown in (C and D) with 3 cutting planes: the tiled horizontal plane, and the 2 vertical planes along the edge of the rib cage to separate the thoracic and abdominal motions. The images are taken from the references (Li, et al. 2015b; Li, et al. 2016b) with permission.
